Back when I taught at Apple Valley High School (1989-1998) I had a message board on which I posted quotes, jokes and limericks.  I recently found my old limerick book! Here are a few of my favorites....

I sat next to the Duchess at tea.
'Twas just as I feared it would be!
     Her rumblings abdominal
     Were simply phenomenal,
And everyone thought it was me!

There was a young girl from Mobile,
Who went up in a great Ferris Wheel.
     When halfway around,
     She looked down at the ground;
And it cost here a five-dollar meal.

Said a boy to his teacher one day,
"Wright has not written 'rite' right, I say!"
     And the teacher replied
     As the error she eyed:
"Right-Wright, write 'rite' right, right away!"

She was peeved and called him "Mr."
Not because he went and kr.,
     But because, just before,
     As she opened the door,
This same Mr. kr. sr.

If you have a really good limerick which you think I might enjoy so much as to want to share it, send it to me in an e-mail.  You never know-- I may just post it here!
